What does a meteorologist actually do every day? How do pilots know what conditions they’ll have for landing in a new country? This episode gives the answers to these questions and we learn about the process of becoming a forecaster, having to report live during natural disasters, and why daily weather forecasts may not always seem accurate for our neck of the woods.
Kassia Johnson is a graduate of the St. Joseph’s Convent St. George’s and the T.A. Marryshow Community College. She is an Aeronautical Meteorological Forecaster at the Maurice Bishop International Airport in Grenada.
Kassie started working at the Airports Authority in 2013 as a Meteorological Observer and was later promoted to a Forecaster in 2019. Her studies for this career took place at the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology in Husbands, Barbados. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Indiana University East.
We hope you enjoy the journey on today’s Pathway!
