Irina is the Principal and Managing Director of Irina Kostka Architecture, a full-service firm dedicated to creating innovative designs that celebrate the cohesion between the natural and built environment. Driven by the desire to make a positive impact on the built environment in Grenada and the wider Caribbean, she incorporates the culture, history and characteristics of each location into her designs. This paves the way for more immersive architecture that breathes new life and opportunities into the relevant economies.

Show Notes:
- Irina’s thesis project developed the Carenage into a cultural promenade to create a social space that also highlights Grenada’s rich culture through arts, music and dance. You can read more about it on the Groundation Grenada article.
- Irina went to architecture school in Germany and received a Diplom-Ingenieur degree, which she describes as essentially being a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in one 5-year program but without a stop-gap in the middle and only one diploma.
