“Take time to absorb information. Remain skeptical and think critically about yourself and what you want to do” - Raman Walwyn-Venugopal
Here it is! Part 2 of the Season One Finale of Pathways! In this wrap-up episode, Arlene and friends talk about what they’ve learned so far in the world of work after College. What haven’t the adults been telling us about life out here?! The group gets a little deeper and discusses their feelings of obligation (or lack thereof) to their home countries and reflect on lessons learned over the years. This is the REAL DEAL.

Show Notes:
University majors they took:
- Raman - Double-B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering & Computer Science, pursuing M.Sc. in Computer Science
- Latocha - B.Sc. in Engineering Management with a specialization in Biomedical Engineering
- Drexler - B.Sc. in Psychology, M.A. in Social & Personality Psychology, Ph.D. in Social & Personality Psychology
- Arlene - B.Arch Architecture with a minor in Construction Management
Other notes:
- In this episode, Drexler mentions his US visa status and how that has affected so much about school, work and life in the US. Be sure to check out our upcoming blog post about navigating the US education and job system as an international student at www.grensteam.org.
- An important note when deciding on a college major (if you will be studying and hoping to work in the US) is that certain industries are not favourable to international students, as many employers may require national security clearance for their workers, which cannot be attained unless you are a US citizen. Biomedical Engineering and Aerospace are notorious ones, as Latocha learned while job searching.
- Grenadian STEAM will be accepting sponsorships and partnerships for our podcast in 2021. Reach out if you are a local business that would like to work with us!
